Welcome to Van's Dive Bar, located on 5th Avenue next to Lucky Wishbone in Anchorage. Run by culinary veteran Van Hale and his wife Nicki Shinners, we are a lively and vibrant lounge in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Fairview. What started as a dive bar with holes in the walls has transformed into a hit establishment that was voted the best music venue, best open mic, best dive bar, second best cocktail bar, and second best gay bar in Anchorage in the 2020 press picks competition. We offer live music shows four nights a week featuring local musicians, an open mic night every Sunday, and a great mix of music, open mic sessions, and jams throughout the week.
